Ex-Niger Delta Agitators Protest In Abuja

Written by on October 22, 2019

Ex-Niger Delta armed agitators have staged a peaceful protest in Abuja, demanding the implementation of a social security scheme for all ex-agitators who embraced the amnesty programme of the Federal Government.

Speaking at the Unity Fountain, the chairman of the ex-agitators, Mr Lawrence Solomon, described the payment of N65,000 to all ex-agitators for nine years without an increment as unfair and unjust.

The ex-agitators also faulted the activities of the amnesty office as they insist on a probe of the agency over allegations of substituting names of ex-agitators with that of unknown persons.
