FLOOD TRAPS RESIDENTS OF FEDERAL HOUSING ESTATE OWERRI AND CRIPPLES COMMERCIAL ACTIVITIES

Rampaging flood due to heavy rainsrecently has trapped residents of Federal Housing Estate egbu road in Owerri Municipal Counciland submerged a large chunk of the community completely.

Some residents who spoke to darling FMsaid Educational and business activities including worship centres have been submerged by the flood and crippling business activities.

They also added that members of the community who now seek shelter elsewhere say they are battling different kind of ailment due to the disaster.

They called on the government to take necessary action to mitigate the disaster before it is too late.

As it is now it will take weeks for some of the residents to acquire back their homes and they say they are presently living in fear of what tomorrow holds in stock for them.
