Written by on October 3, 2019

President MUHAMMADU BUHARI has arrived in South Africa for a state visit after an outburst of xenophobic violence in and around Johannesburg stirred tensions between Africa’s leading economic powerhouses.

BUHARI who is accompanied by some governors was received at the WaterkloofAirforce Base in Pretoria by the South African Minister for International Relations and Cooperation, NALEDI PANDOR and other ministers.

President BUHARI and his South African counterpart CYRIL RAMAPHOSA will meet today to discuss bolstering trade ties and political cooperation as both struggle to kick start their stuttering economies.

President MUHAMMADU BUHARI will use the state visit to discuss the welfare of Nigerians, and find common grounds for building harmonious relations with their hosts.
