INSPECTOR GENERAL OF POLICE TO APPEAR BEFORE SENATE NEXT WEEK TUESDAY OVER SECURITY ISSUES.

Senate has asked the acting Inspector General of Police, MOHAMMED ADAMU, to appear before it next weekTuesday, over insecurity in the country.

Senate President, Bukola Saraki, Made the announcement after Senator UBALI SHITU moved for the approval of votes and proceedings.

Senator SHEHU SANI, who raised a motion on last week attack also called the attention of the lawmakers to the abduction of Chairman of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), MUHAMMED MAHMOOD, during plenary.

In his remarks, the Senate President noted that the Senate had agreed that the police boss willappear before it and they would put heads together to discuss the series of kidnappings in the country.

The Senate President appealed to the security agencies to ensure that the UBEC Chairman and others kidnapped victims regained their freedom.
