PENSIONERS GIVES IMO STATE GOVERNMENT 7 DAY ULTIMATUM TO PAY THEIR ARREARS

Imo State pensioners have given Imo State Government 7 day’s ultimatum with effect from today 1st July 2020.to commerce payment of pension arrears.

Speaking with journalists during a peaceful protest at the government house gate, Chairman Pensioners Intervention Committee OHANEZE IYKE expressed disappointment with the State Government to honour her earlier promised through the secretary to the state government COSMOS IWU.

According to IYKE, they are yet to get information from the state government after due process demanding for their arrears

Speaking with Darling Fm, Some of the pensioners expressed displeasure over the inability of the state government to pay their pensions and gratuities.

Darling FM reports that the protesters carried placards with some inscriptions, “Pensioners are dying daily for lack of food and medical care, and is it a crime to be a pensioner?
