PRESIDENT MUHAMMADU BUHARI URGE RELIGIOUS LEADERS TO ABSTAIN FROM PARTISAN POLITICS.

Written by on October 15, 2018

President Muhammadu Buhari has advised religious leaders in the country to shun partisan politics ahead of the 2019 general elections.

He said this at the Interfaith Initiative for Peace Conference, noting that advice became necessary having witnessed the roles religious leaders had been playing so far ahead of the elections.

Buhari said clerics engaging in partisan politics or political controversies risk losing their public respect.

According to him, the stability of the nation is more important than anyone’s political ambition.
