Reps Asks Buhari To Urgently Appoint Cabinet

Written by on July 10, 2019

The House of Representatives has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to urgently appoint his cabinet who will serve for the next four years in his administration.

This decision followed consideration of a motion raised by Rep. Toby Okechukwu during plenary on Tuesday.

Although another lawmaker Mohammed Monguno opposed the motion through a point of order, explaining that the constitution does not provide a time frame for the appointment of ministers by the President.

But Mr. Okechukwu, however, noted that his motion does not suggest that there is a time frame for the President to appoint the minister but only seeks to urge him to appoint them quickly.
