On Sunday, January 26, 2020, the 62nd Grammy Awards held at at Staples Center in Los Angeles. As the biggest celebration of music on the planet, ht attracted the biggest artists across the world. It was hosted by Grammy winning singer, Alicia Keys.

Billie Eilish led the way in wins with five. She swept the ‘big four’ categories with wins from her commercial monster album, When We Sleep, Where Do We Go. Her brother and producer, Finneas O’Connell also won two Grammy Awards. Anderson Pa.ak and Lizzo won two awards each. Tyler The Creator also took home the gong for Best Rap Album.

Nominees were announced on November 20, 2019. It covers music released between October 1, 2018, to August 31, 2019.

Lizzo led this year’s nominations with eight nods while Billie Eilish and Lil Nas X each received six nominations. Nigerian superstar, Burna Boy also lost his category to another African legend, Angelique Kidjo.
